Fiberglass Hardtop Repair

Need to know how to repair a fiberglass hardtop? Lou F. can tell you, "I got a 50 year old removable hardtop with my 1966 MGB. The finish was cracked all over the top. I had to sand it back to the fiberglass, then applied 3 coats of the Rapid Urethane Primer (used 2 cans) sanded and spot filled, then applied 3 more coats of the primer. Final sanded and prepped for the Polaris Silver Metallic. I applied 6 coats of the color letting them flash between coats.

Attention to Detail -1977 Yamaha XS650 Chopped and Bobbed

R. Vand de Riet, Virginia Beach, VA, has certainly been paying attention to the details on his '77 Yamaha S650.  It was chopped and bobbed and so much more!

Look close, underneath that beautiful House of Kolor Lapis Blue 0535 you will see black graphics, almost ghost like beneath Spray Max Matte Clear Coat.

1969 Mustang Super Shelby Cobra Jet in HOK Smurfondue 0466 - Spectacular!

Mark M. our customer from N. Arkansas sent us photos of his 1969 Mustang Super Shelby Cobra Jet painted in House of Kolor Smurfondue 0466. There is just no other way to describe this except SPECTACULAR!  Mark said the House of Kolor paint with the new Shimrin 2 pearls are amazing. He plans to use House of Kolor for his next project too.

Vintage Breadbox Restored

Automotive paint is making a move from the garage to the kitchen. Justin Hammock in Neosho painted this vintage breadbox with BASF brand Diamont paint in Inspiration Yellow and Cool Vanilla.  Here at 66 Auto Color, we really enjoy seeing the creative ways our customers are using our products.

1966 Triumph Tiger Cub 200 Sports Model Restoration

1990 Mazda Miata V8 Rust Repair & Restoration

David Tibbitts is on his way to a great restoration on his 1990 Mazda Miata V8.  But first he had a bit of rust repair to do on "Old Blue" around the windshield.  The color is Mariner Blue, paint code DU.  He used the Spray Max 2K single-stage aerosol to finish the repair and it really turned out nice.Take a look.

If you don't stop the rust DEAD, it will continue to haunt you.  We suggest POR 15 Rust Preventative.

Custom Made Muffler Bench

John Brockman of Brockman's Muffler Shop in Joplin, Missouri, has come up with a creative way to use mufflers.  He has created seats and benches from mufflers and exhaust pipes.  We liked them so much, we decided to put one in our store at 66 Auto Color for customers to relax in while we mix their paint.

FiberFab Valkyrie Kit Car - Finished Project

Adam, one of our Joplin customers, came in to our store and drove there in his finished FiberFab Valkyrie Kit Car.  It is on a MR2 Chassis and drivetrain.  Pretty clever, truly, one-of-a-kind, it looks great, and it looks like a lot of fun.
